The people behind HPS
The concept for HPS came from us both, Anne and Giles, HPS’ directors and owners, but behind us is a dedicated team operating in the vital areas of pre-sales advice, purchasing, warehouse, despatch and after-sales support - along with Mitch the Dog - whose entire aim is to ensure that all HPS's customers receive the best service there is. I started building bikes ...against my parents’ wishes… from old parts I begged from my mates' elder brothers when I was eleven years old. Eventually upon leaving school my dream came true upon becoming apprentice motorcycle mechanic in a local dealer. After a year in this job, though, I was persuaded to further my education via a three-year full-time automotive engineering and management course. After graduating, I was about to rejoin the bike trade when the opportunity arose to start an IT/computer business which took us down a different - but in many ways parallel - path for 18 remarkable years. |

Our business credentials The IT company grew into one of the most successful independent Apple Computer Centres - turning over approaching £10m, mostly by mail order - for which we developed sophisticated and efficient IT systems to ensure our customers received the highest standards of service and support. Why did HPS come about? Throughout these biking years, when buying parts for our own bikes, I’d been constantly astonished at the poor standards of advice and support provided by the "big-name" mail order parts suppliers and eventually realised that our systems and experience in providing customer service lent themselves equally well to the supply of performance parts for motorcycles. This is how HPS came to be - initially specialising in parts for the then all-new 1998 Yamaha YZF-R1 - then spreading our wings further as happy customers came back to us repeatedly for upgrades for the bikes they’d subsequently bought.
A truly international - but still a very personal - business Visits to tradeshows worldwide soon followed after realising that to offer the very best upgrades for our customers, we needed to go out and source products which weren’t already widely available, meaning we now have many great and efficient suppliers across the globe. So, from modest beginnings we've built HPS based around excellent service and product knowledge, combined with competitive prices and - in addition to our original retail operations - we are now pleased to also be distributors for some of the highest-quality product ranges in widely diverse upgrade categories - from screens to wheels - meaning that every day we're receiving international deliveries in for our customers and shipping out worldwide.
Racing and riding today After over 40 years in the saddle, it’s great to still enjoy road riding, racing …and sometimes crashing!… and it’s been real fun to have had race successes in recent times.
